sometimes when i cook i pretend i am hosting a cooking show. rephrase: almost every time i cook i pretend i am hosting a cooking show. i talk to imaginary cameras and give tips to an imaginary audience, even when i'm making grilled cheese. ridiculous? maybe, but when the food network offers me my own show, i'll be ready...

No, I don't think you should be shamed by this!!! Did you know that I did a little of this for our local cable station when we lived in Naperville? Although I wasn't the chef, I just interviewed the chefs as they did their thing. Much easier. I don't think I could do what you do, i.e., talk to the camera and slice, talk to the audience and dice, give tips and saute'. Obviously, you are much more coordinated and accomplished. I would be so happy to see you bump a couple of those Food Network people out of their kitchen to make room for you! Now, let's think of an awesome name for your show! :D
